Purgatorial is a blackened death metal project from Manchester in the United Kingdom, formed in 2024 by Stockport-born musician Kris Mayers (also the founder of melodic black metal project Eowa). The complete lineup is currently being assembled and will be revealed in time.
The aim of Purgatorial is to deliver detuned hymns straight from the abyss that give a bleak, devastating, yet cathartic experience to its listeners. Lyrics focus on antifacism, misanthropy, fear, anger and all stem from the desire to live in a better world. But to see the light, we must first face the dark.
